Last night, we gathered at the University of Maryland to celebrate a major milestone: the formal establishment of the Iota Zeta Alumni Association (IZAA) and the creation of the $50,000 “One Ray of Hope” Endowment with the University. As IZAA’s first Chairman, I’m incredibly proud to share that this achievement has been in motion since our founding in April 2024 — and it fulfills a vision sparked more than a decade ago, following our chapter’s 40th anniversary.

The evening was especially meaningful because this endowment honors Bro. Raymond Lee (SP91), who entered Omega Chapter and now rests alongside 14 other Brothers who began their Alpha journey through Iota Zeta. To have his wife, Leisa, his children Raymond Jr. and Isabella, his brother Roland, and their entire family present made the occasion unforgettable. They will forever remain part of our IZ family.

This accomplishment was far from a solo effort. With the dedication of the six Brothers serving alongside me on the Executive Committee — and the unwavering support of our alumni — we raised over $25,000 internally to bring this vision to life in less than 12 months. I salute my Brothers for the commitment and legacy we have established together. This endowment ensures that Iota Zeta’s impact will live on in perpetuity.

Chairman, Iota Zeta Alumni Association
