Brother Jacques R. Clervil is a dedicated Life Member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., initiated through the Theta Sigma Chapter at the University of Florida in Fall 2001. From the moment of initiation, Brother Clervil has been deeply committed to the aims and ideals of Alpha, serving as a steadfast leader, visionary, and community servant.
During his undergraduate years, he revitalized Theta Sigma as a member of the resurrection line, serving in critical roles such as Step Master, Corresponding Secretary, and Director of the Miss Black and Gold Pageant. His leadership helped raise over $10,000 for chapter programming and re-established the fraternity's presence on campus.
As a proud and active member of the Kappa Epsilon Lambda Chapter since 2009, Brother Clervil has held numerous impactful positions, including President, Vice President, Membership Intake Director, Project Alpha Chair, Social Committee Chair, Chapter Step Coordinator, and Civic & Political Engagement Chair for the Mid-Atlantic Association of Alpha Phi Alpha Chapters (MAAC). Notably, his presidency ushered the chapter through the challenges of the pandemic by transitioning to hybrid programming, increasing reclamation and retention, and enhancing the chapter's visibility and impact through community initiatives such as virtual college fairs and large-scale holiday food drives.
Brother Clervil’s commitment has been recognized through multiple honors, including:
